Job summary

ALS in Reno seeks an HSE Manager to implement and support Geochemistry HSE programs across the region, working with operations leadership and North America HSE Management to ensure consistent application of standards and regulatory compliance.

The role provides coaching, audits, investigations, and practical support to address regional HSE challenges while promoting a strong safety culture and effective risk management. Travel up to 40% is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive experience in Occupational Health & Safety in industrial, laboratory, or field operations.
• 1+ years of management experience strongly preferred.
• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of risk assessment methodologies such as JHA/JSA, hazard identification, risk ranking, and control hierarchies.

Responsibilities

• Implement Global and North American HSE programs, standards, procedures, and initiatives throughout the region.
• Serve as the primary HSE resource for regional operations leadership and support sites during changes or expansions.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and workplace assessments to monitor compliance and drive corrective actions.
• Lead or support investigations of incidents and near misses, performing root cause analysis.
• Facilitate hazard identification and risk assessment activities and monitor effectiveness of controls.
