Job summary

Food Lion is seeking an HR Operations Specialist to provide functional and process guidance across a defined geography. As the primary HR resource for the region, you will support Store Managers and Directors of Operations, respond to associate contacts, and ensure consistent application of policies and programs.

This field-based role requires travel to stores, on-site crisis support, and the ability to navigate HR data to improve morale and retention.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of HR concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
• Ability to interpret policy and procedures consistently and objectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Field based role; must reside within/nearby assigned geography.

Responsibilities

• Provides advice, counsel and guidance to retail Directors and Store Managers on HR related questions and documents interactions in the HR case management system.
• Offers recommendations for handling sensitive work situations and mediates conflicts.
• Collaborates with Directors to improve morale, retention and productivity.
• Provides on-site support for crisis management, workplace violence and critical incidents as needed.
• Reviews accommodation requests and documents the process in the HR case management system.
• Coordinates with Asset Protection and shared services for HR processes like LOA and workers' compensation.
