Job summary

St. Croix Hospice in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a Regional Volunteer Coordinator to manage the volunteer program across multiple sites.

The role requires organizing, implementing, and maintaining the program in alignment with CHAP and HIPAA guidelines, with travel four days per week. You will recruit, onboard, train volunteers, assess needs with departments, place volunteers, maintain files, and report concerns.

Qualifications

• College degree in human services or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating volunteers and programs is desirable.
• Knowledge of CHAP standards and HIPAA is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Ensure volunteer program complies with agency policy and procedures.
• Recruit, interview, onboard and train volunteers.
• Organize and schedule volunteers across assigned locations.
• Assess volunteer needs and develop new programs with staff collaboration.
• Maintain volunteer files and ensure HIPAA privacy compliance.
• Provide ongoing support and recognition to volunteers to boost retention.
• Report grievances and work with the Volunteer Services Manager on follow-ups.
• Promote hospice volunteer services to the community and groups.
