Job summary

Rainbow Tree Company is seeking a Regional Technical Horticultural Advisor to advance scientific knowledge in tree, shrub, and landscape health care. You will educate clients and staff, lead field trials, give talks at industry events, and contribute articles on plant care.

Candidates should have a BS in horticulture/urban forestry/biology or 3–5 years green industry experience; pesticide license within 6 months; and be able to travel and lift 50 lbs. Spanish ability is a plus.

Qualifications

BS in horticulture, urban forestry, biology, or related field; or 3–5 years green industry experience.
Knowledge and experience diagnosing regional and national tree, shrub, and landscape problems.
Experience in managing insects, diseases, and abiotic problems on trees and shrubs in landscapes.
Current state pesticide license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Valid Driver’s License.
BS or MS in horticulture, urban forestry, biology, or related field (preferred).
5+ years industry experience (preferred).
Experience using plant growth regulators in landscapes (preferred).
Experience training adult learners (preferred).
Ability to converse in Spanish (preferred).

Responsibilities

Create and deliver ongoing technical and scientific training of RES’s products, equipment, and protocols to support Rainbow Staff, RES Customers, and Industry Partners.
Provide prompt, professional technical support to RES clients via phone, email, live chat, and social media.
Assist the R&D team by facilitating and managing research trials with industry professionals and academic researchers.
