Job summary

The South Carolina Department on Aging seeks a Midlands Regional Coordinator to advocate for vulnerable adults across Richland, Kershaw, Fairfield, Lancaster, Chester, and York Counties. The role focuses on representing best interests in court and coordinating Guardian ad Litem activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with relevant program experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with and empowering volunteers; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Guardian ad Litem to represent the best interests of the vulnerable adult.
• Provides support to volunteers through training, monthly meetings, and caseload assistance.
• Reviews new cases and assigns them to volunteers within 48 hours of request.
• Maintains case files in data systems with accurate information and updates.
• Assists with recruitment efforts to publicize volunteer opportunities and engage new volunteers; conducts recruitment events annually.
