Job summary

Richland County CASA seeks a skilled Case Coordinator to supervise and support volunteer Guardians ad Litem, ensuring timely advocacy for abused and neglected children.

You will mentor GALs through their first case, coordinate strategies, and maintain case records. The role involves attending court hearings, preparing reports, and assisting with volunteer training and program newsletters as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or education, training or job experience equivalent to four years of college education in social services, social work or a closely related field.
• Must possess certification as a Guardian ad Litem.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, support and assist assigned volunteer Guardians ad Litem (GALs) to ensure effective advocacy for abused and/or neglected children.
• Attend DSS protocol staffings and EPC probable cause hearings.
• Mentor GALs through their first case and coordinate case strategy meetings.
• Maintain up‑to‑date case files and records; prepare reports and correspondence as required.
• Attend court hearings with volunteers or act as GAL at hearings.
