Job summary

The State of South Carolina, Department on Aging, seeks a Midlands Regional Coordinator to advocate for vulnerable adults in Richland, Kershaw, Fairfield, Lancaster, Chester, and York Counties. You will coordinate Guardians ad Litem efforts and ensure timely case assignments.

Responsibilities include training volunteers, reviewing new cases within 48 hours, maintaining case files, and assisting with recruitment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with relevant program experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
• Experience working with and empowering volunteers; knowledge of community resources for older adults and older adults with disabilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication; proficiency in common computer software.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the area of employment.
• Ability to exercise judgement and discretion; establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a Guardian ad Litem to represent the best interests of the vulnerable adult.
• Provides support to volunteers through training, monthly meetings, and assistance with caseload.
• Reviews new cases and assigns them to appropriate volunteers with 48 hours of request.
• Maintains case files in data system with accurate information and updates.
• Assists with recruitment efforts to publicize volunteer opportunities and engage new volunteers.
