Job summary

MaineGuide is seeking a driven Regional Group Sales Manager to grow group business across its resort portfolio in Portland, ME. This outside sales role rewards relationship-building with clients through meetings, retreats, and events, leveraging a diverse range of lodging, dining, and recreation offerings.

You will lead territory development, conduct sales visits, deliver proposals, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with property teams to ensure seamless guest experiences, with travel required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of outside sales experience in hotels, resorts or hospitality.
• Proven success meeting or exceeding group sales goals.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple property teams.
• Residence within one hour of Portland, Maine, with frequent regional travel and availability for select evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, qualify, and close new group business while growing existing accounts.
• Build client relationships through regular sales visits, presentations, and entertainment.
• Develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage the full group sales cycle.
• Execute territory strategies, meet prospecting targets, and maintain accurate CRM records.
• Coordinate with property teams on site tours, event handoffs, and guest experience.
