Job summary

IDEA (Islamic Development & Empowerment in America) seeks a part-time Development Coordinator in Birmingham, AL to build donor and community relationships across masajid, businesses, and organizations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, required.
• Experience with grassroots organizations or community engagement.
• Familiarity with local Muslim community and leaders.
• Strong organizational, project-management, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent oral communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to interact with diverse backgrounds and build relationships.
• Strong written communication and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Fundraising experience is required.
• Willingness to travel at least 60% of the time within the geographic area and regional/national travel.
• Desire to work for a humanitarian cause.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace; Salesforce or ClickUp preferred.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with donors, masajid, businesses, and communities in the assigned area.
• Strengthen relationships with masajid and identify new community opportunities.
• Conduct outreach visits and represent IDEA at events.
• Plan and support regional fundraising activities and events with staff and volunteers.
• Respond to donor inquiries with information about IDEA’s campaigns and programs.
• Deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
• Prepare plans, projections, and reports for the Regional Community Fund Development Manager.
• Research local communities and opportunities to support fundraising strategies.
• Continue professional development through training and workshops.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
