Job summary

MDARD seeks a Food and Dairy Industry Manager 14 to lead the East Region within the Food Retail Section. The role directs field inspectors, develops policy, coordinates regional activities, and collaborates with local health partners to ensure safe food across Michigan.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, collaboration, and sound decision-making while managing regional programs and emergency response functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 10 credits biology/chemistry
• Official transcripts must contain degree details and registrar information

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of field inspectors overseeing area food establishments
• Policy development and implementation for regional operations
• Regional coordination including complaint investigations, sampling, licensing and enforcement
• Oversight of regional-level emergency response functions
• Manage regional program coordination with partners (local health, industry, FDA, etc.)
