Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field including 10 semester (15 term) credits in biology and/or chemistry.
• Experience pathways: Food Industry Field Scientist 9/10/P11 with progressively higher responsibilities.
• One year of professional experience in enforcing food production, transportation and storage laws (to match level 9/10) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Inspect retail stores, bakeries, warehouses, and food processing plants for sanitation and compliance.
• Perform milk sanitation inspections of dairy farms, plants and related transport.
• Investigate foodborne illnesses and consumer complaints; collect samples as required.
• Enforce food/dairy laws and regulations and ensure timely, accurate work from a home-based field office.
