Job summary

Guardian Glass is seeking a Regional Float Glass Process Engineer to join the Operational Excellence team. This role can be based at float glass facilities across the US or Mexico, with responsibilities to improve operations of float lines and collaborate with regional and global leaders.

The candidate will develop and deploy best practices, lead projects, travel up to 50%, and serve as SME to troubleshoot processes. Competitive compensation is provided.

Qualifications

• Float glass process knowledge and experience in full scale manufacturing and development using production scale equipment.
• Experience with project planning and execution (canal change, hot repairs, etc.).
• Ability to travel up to 50% (primarily Mon-Fri) in North and South America

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy proven practices for the Float
• Improve quality, performance and throughput of our Furnaces
• Support sites to overcome challenges by following a disciplined problem-solving process
• Work with plants on batch chemistry to optimize quality, cost, and transitions
• Ensure the best knowledge is understood and shared to build skills and understanding in our teams
• Serve as a Technical SME to Guardian’s production float teams to troubleshoot process or product issues in facilities
• Seek opportunities to learn from the market and bring outside perceptions, best practices and opportunities that will improve Guardian’s process technology capability
• Clearly present and communicate ideas, concepts, and plans across multiple levels
• Work in multi-cultural and functional teams globally
• Work on ramp ups after major projects such as canal changes and cold tank repairs
• Implement and scale new technologies across plants of ownership
