Job summary

Guardian Glass seeks a Regional Float Glass Process Engineer to join the Operational Excellence team, supporting float lines across the Americas. The role collaborates with plants in the US and Mexico to improve operations, quality, and throughput while applying disciplined problem solving.

You will travel up to 50% to sites, lead process improvements, and share best practices across locations as a technical SME for Guardian’s float production teams.

Qualifications

• Float glass process knowledge and experience in full scale manufacturing.
• Experience with project planning and execution (canal change, hot repairs, etc.).
• Ability to travel up to 50% (primarily Mon-Fri) in North and South America.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy proven practices for the Float.
• Improve quality, performance and throughput of our Furnaces.
• Support sites to overcome challenges by following a disciplined problem-solving process.
• Work with plants on batch chemistry to optimize quality, cost, and transitions.
• Ensure the best knowledge is understood and shared to build skills and understanding in our teams.
• Serve as a Technical SME to Guardian's production float teams to troubleshoot process or product issues in facilities.
• Seek opportunities to learn from the market and bring outside perceptions, best practices and opportunities that will improve Guardian's process technology capability.
• Clearly present and communicate ideas, concepts, and plans across multiple levels.
• Work in multi-cultural and functional teams globally.
• Work on ramp ups after major projects such as canal changes and cold tank repairs.
• Implement and scale new technologies across plants of ownership.
