This role leads preventive/corrective maintenance, budgeting, data reporting and compliance with federal/state regulations, partnering with regional teams to optimize fleet condition and driver safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 15+ years of progressive hands-on experience in fleet management.
• Solid project management, resource planning and communication skills.
• Specialized understanding of maintenance procedures and industry regulations (EPA, DOT, OSHA).
• Able to manage complex, dynamic situations with strategic and tactical priorities.
• Autonomous yet team-oriented with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manages hiring, training, coaching, performance, scheduling and overtime.
• Maintains preventive/corrective maintenance program and service standards.
• Reviews road calls, breakdowns, parts, repairs and safety performance.
• Provides hands-on maintenance assistance as needed.
• Educates drivers on DVIRs and CDL basics.
• Ensures maintenance data is input in the vehicle maintenance system.
• Monitors inventory, cost control and performance metrics.
• Assists in purchasing vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Establishes maintenance training to improve fleet condition.
• Ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA regulations and audits.
