Job summary

Action Environmental is seeking a Service Manager to lead maintenance teams across the Southeast, coordinating, scheduling and auditing vehicle maintenance including preventative, mechanical and electrical repairs for trucks and equipment.

You will develop a strong maintenance team, ensure safety compliance, manage vendor relationships, and drive cost-effective operations with transparent reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of maintenance management or related experience.
• College degree preferred but will consider relevant experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong oral, written and electronic communication skills.
• Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Strong PC and Microsoft Office, phone, and organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving capabilities.
• Experience with Fleetrock and Samsara software a plus.
• Negotiation skills with outside vendors and OEM warranty personnel is required.
• Research and analyze trends.
• Detail oriented and results driven.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and shop activities across locations.
• Lead the shop safety program and ensure compliance.
• Provide guidance to ensure availability of items to meet goals.
• Work with leadership on mechanic audits and development plans.
• Identify training and tooling needs to meet company needs.
• Perform shop facility audits to ensure a safe workplace and compliance.
• Develop and report shop performance metrics.
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure cost-effective repairs and proper parts stocking.
• Manage invoices from vendors and maintain payment terms.
• Conduct weekly teleconferences to discuss trends and expenses.
