Job summary

GreenWaste Recovery LLC in San Jose, CA is seeking a Regional Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee a diverse fleet of heavy‑duty diesel and CNG refuse vehicles and heavy equipment. You will ensure uptime, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency across sites.

The role requires hands‑on diagnostics, strategic budgeting, and leading maintenance teams with a strong focus on safety and process improvements; travel is approximately 50% annually.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in fleet management, heavy equipment maintenance, or industrial asset management.
• Hands-on experience with diesel and CNG refuse trucks, including hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Proven leadership experience managing multi-site maintenance teams.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, EPA, and CARB regulations.
• Proficiency with CMMS platforms and fleet telematics systems.
• Strong analytical, budgeting, and vendor management skills.
• ASE, EVT, or OEM certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for diesel and CNG refuse trucks and heavy construction equipment.
• Audit adherence to PM schedules and documentation in the fleet management system.
• Monitor equipment lifecycle and utilization to inform repair vs. replacement decisions.
• Direct maintenance and inspection of CNG fuel systems per NFPA 52 and regulations.
• Coordinate with fueling station operators on infrastructure maintenance and safety.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and retain shop staff across multiple locations.
• Champion safety, OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance and incident investigations.
• Develop and manage annual maintenance budgets and control costs.
• Drive data-based maintenance decisions using CMMS and KPI reporting.
