Job description

Intralox SERVICE+ Technician Position - Indianapolis, IN

Intralox has an opening for a SERVICE+ Technician in the Indianapolis, IN area. This role requires a strong mechanical background to support low-tension polymer belting technology in conveyor applications. The technician must have effective planning and communication skills to manage a territory within a 5- to 6-hour radius (approximately 400 miles) and be willing to travel throughout North America, including Canada, as needed.

The technician will serve as a technical resource, supporting proactive customer connections to strengthen partnerships by demonstrating the value of our technology and providing reactive support. Collaboration with account managers is essential to ensure alignment and foster teamwork. Building professional relationships with production plants through consistent, world-class service, proactive scheduling, opportunity identification, onsite training, and timely response to customer issues are key responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Support and promote low-tension polymer conveyor belt applications.
  2. Build strong relationships with account managers and customers through effective communication.
  3. Support, coordinate, and perform belt installations at customer facilities.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with installations or applications in the field.
  5. Identify solutions quickly and communicate opportunities effectively.
  6. Provide technical assistance and training remotely and onsite.
  7. Inspect conveyors to identify improvement opportunities.
  8. Communicate recommendations verbally and in reports.
  9. Manage travel efficiently, including nights and weekends.
  10. Occasionally perform belt performance calculations.
  11. Maintain the professional appearance and safety of the service van and equipment.
  12. Focus on Food customers within a specific North American region.
  13. Travel periodically by air, with reasonable access to regional airports.
  14. Engage in approximately 70% travel, about 168 days per year, primarily within a 5-hour drive of home.
  15. Lift up to 75 pounds as needed.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus.
  2. Minimum of two years’ experience in manufacturing, mechanical, or agricultural fields.
  3. Strong mechanical skills, preferably with processing or conveying equipment experience.
  4. Ability to prioritize, coordinate resources, and manage visits independently.
  5. Customer-focused approach and excellent communication skills in English.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  7. Preferred OSHA safety certification.
  8. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a service van independently.
  9. Willingness to travel regionally within North America, including Canada.
  10. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
