Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking a Regional Field Service Mechanic for Hartford, CT, to diagnose, repair, and maintain articulating cranes and related equipment on customer sites. The role emphasizes on-site service, safety, and clear communication with fleet managers.

Candidates must have advanced mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical skills, be able to work in all weather, and hold or obtain a CDL within 60 days. Competitive hourly pay with benefits and growth opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quarterly preventive maintenance and annual inspections.
• Handle emergency service calls during both working and non-working hours.

Join PALFINGER and help us lift what’s next—one on‑site fix at a time.The missionAs a remote field professional in Hartford, CT, you’ll support PALFINGER customers by keeping their truck‑mounted equipment performing at its best. You will report to the Regional Field Service Manager and serve as the face of PALFINGER at job sites and fleet yards.In this role, you willDiagnose, repair, and optimize articulating cranes, truck‑mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers—often independently.Carry out quarterly preventive maintenance to customer timelines, complete Annual DOT inspections, and perform warranty services.Handle emergency and unscheduled service calls during both working and non‑working hours.Brief job site and fleet managers on issues, options, and repair plans in clear language.Produce complete, timely service records: estimates, work order authorizations, parts sourcing, labor capture, and inventory documentation.Work safely and in full compliance with state and federal regulations.Keep your company vehicle, tools, and on‑site work areas clean and organized.What it takesAdvanced skill across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; strong troubleshooting/diagnostics; welding ability.Fit for field work in all weather; able to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 75 lbs+ for extended periods.3 years of mechanical experience or formal training focused on articulating cranes and forklifts.Ability to speak, read, and write English.Valid CDL (or willingness to obtain within 60 days).Personal tool set; PALFINGER supplies proprietary tools.Growth and rewardsCompetitive hourly pay: $34.25+/hr.
