Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking an experienced Field Service Mechanic to work in the field on customer truck-mounted equipment. This remote position covers Cedar Rapids, IA and reports to the Regional Field Service Manager.

You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and DOT inspections, with a focus on articulating cranes and related equipment. A valid CDL and English proficiency are required; tools must be supplied by the candidate.

Qualifications

• 3 years of mechanical experience or training in cranes/forklifts.
• Must speak, read and write English.
• CDL license or willing to obtain within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and troubleshooting of articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks and trailers.
• Provide quarterly preventive maintenance and annual DOT inspections.
• Offer emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs during/after hours.
• Communicate issues and repairs to job site or fleet managers.
• Maintain accurate service documentation: estimates, work orders, parts, labor, inventory.

This is a remote position in Cedar Rapids, IA. This position reports to the Regional Field Service Manager.Your ResponsibilitiesPerform field repairs and troubleshooting of articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks and trailers while using a high degree of independent judgment.Perform quarterly preventive maintenance per customer schedule and Annual DOT inspections and warranty service.Provide emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs during working and non-working hours.Able to communicate mechanical issues and needed repairs to the job site and/or fleet managers.Responsible for service documentation in a timely manner that consists of but not limited to; estimates, work order authorization, ordering and recording parts, labor, and inventory documentationComply with state and federal safety regulations.Maintain clean and orderly company vehicle and job site equipment and work areas.Your QualificationsStrong proficiency in mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, troubleshooting diagnostics and welding.Must be physically able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach and lift 75lbs+ for extended periods.3 years of mechanical experience or training with emphasis in the area of articulating cranes and forklifts.Must speak, read and write English.Must have a valid CDL driver’s license or willing to obtain one within 60 days of employment.Supply own tools.
