Job summary

BCTS, a leading contractor, seeks a Safety Manager to support operations across Kansas City metro, Topeka, Windsor (CO), and Ankeny (IA). You will provide hands-on field safety leadership, develop programs, coach leaders, and ensure regulatory compliance in diverse facilities.

The role emphasizes proactive safety culture, audits, incident investigations, and cross-location coordination with HR and operations to reduce risk and drive safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field.
• Minimally five years of progressive safety experience.
• Experience influencing leaders and field staff on safety.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
• Experience leading incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Promote a proactive safety culture across branches and operations.
• Lead field safety activities, site visits, audits, and coaching.
• Coach Branch Safety Champions and support onboarding and development.
• Support safety programs for hospital, healthcare, and commercial sites.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and client safety requirements.
• Maintain safety documentation and assist with injury/illness recordkeeping.
• Lead investigations of injuries, incidents, and near misses; perform root cause analyses.
• Collaborate with HR, insurers, and TPAs on workers' comp and liability claims.
• Support return-to-work programs and fleet safety initiatives.
• Coordinate safety training and LMS assignments; conduct risk assessments.
• Prepare monthly safety reports and KPI dashboards; travel frequently.
