Qualifications

• Education in occupational safety; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent.
• 4+ years of safety experience in construction or field services.
• CSP or BCSP-recognized certification required or obtainable within 12 months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and mobile/field data systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide field coaching to supervisors on pre-task planning, hazard recognition, serious-risk decision making, and Stop Work and Start Work expectations.
• Support planning and execution of high-risk work by helping teams identify critical hazards and confirm non-negotiable controls are in place before work begins.
• Conduct field engagements and observations focused on critical risk exposures and documents control gaps.
• Verify critical controls in the field and support corrective action follow-through; help ensure actions are practical and effective.
• Assist with incident investigations by coaching operational leaders, contributing subject matter expertise, and reinforcing learning application.
• Gather and document relevant information related to incidents and near misses to support the creation of systemic corrective actions.
• Promote driving/vehicle risk awareness and support implementation of vehicle safety expectations and journey planning practices.
• Assist with field training delivery and reinforcement of enterprise programs and tools as needed.
• Must be in the field interacting with employees, observing, coaching and listening to concerns frequently.
• Conduct audits of local offices, projects and crews; report findings, support corrective actions and follow up on improvements identified.
• Conduct PPE assessments and training as required.
• Ensure regional activity and findings are captured accurately to support KPI reporting.
