Job summary

Black Duck is seeking a Regional Field Chief Technology Officer to lead technical strategy and advisory across key accounts in the region. You will engage with C-level and senior technical leaders, translating AI-driven platform capabilities into credible narratives while representing the company as a thought leader.

This customer-facing role reports to the VP of Sales Engineering and requires deep expertise in application security, AI/ML, cloud architectures, and enterprise technology strategy.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in a senior technical leadership role (CTO, Sales Engineering leader, Principal Architect, or equivalent).
• Proven track record influencing C-level and senior technical audiences at enterprise organizations.
• Domain expertise in application security (SAST, SCA, DAST), enterprise architecture, cloud/SaaS platforms, APIs and integrations.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts as applied to security, including responsible AI practices.
• Demonstrated success negotiating with executive leadership and shaping technical decisions and business outcomes.
• Ability to operate with wide latitude in objective setting for complex assignments with regional impact.
• Experience shaping market-facing technical narratives and influencing roadmap, packaging, and go-to-market strategy.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to customer sites and industry events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted technical advisor for C-level and senior stakeholders at strategic accounts.
• Lead visible, multidisciplinary technical engagements across the region.
• Represent Black Duck as a technical evangelist at industry events and in external communications.
• Translate platform AI/ML and security capabilities into clear narratives for technical and executive audiences.
• Partner with Sales and Presales leadership on strategic opportunities and product implications.
• Support RFPs and security questionnaires with authoritative technical input and competitive differentiation.
• Capture regional feedback to inform Product and Engineering roadmaps.
