Job summary

Qnity Electronics, Inc. seeks an engineering design specialist to support design and manufacturing for key customers across the Southeast region. The role works with sales and manufacturing to achieve customer design targets and goals.

The position involves collaborating with OEM engineers, representatives, and territory managers to implement solutions, provide detailed design support, and present solutions using modeling and simulation, with frequent travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field is required.
• 6–10 years of experience in a similar position.
• Thermal, electromagnetic, mechanical, or electrical design experience.
• Experience with electronics system architecture at block diagram level.
• Strong written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with OEM engineers, reps, distribution partners and sales managers to implement solutions.
• Attend customer meetings and provide technical design support while building relationships.
• Use Laird and Qnity products to solve customer challenges with detailed design solutions.
• Present designs using modeling and simulation during presentations.
• Drive customer interactions, prototypes, and initial production builds to meet timelines.
• Release production documentation with dimensions and tolerances for manufacturing.
• Manage projects through a multi-discipline design team to meet development requirements.
• Coordinate internal activities to meet customer program timelines.
• Set priorities for multiple programs in development.
• Maintain skills to keep Laird competitiveness in a dynamic market.
• Travel to customer sites ~50% as needed.
• Adhere to quality and safety systems.
