Job summary

Aurem Care is seeking a Regional Facilities Manager to ensure our care homes are safe, compliant and well-maintained. You will lead a 7-person maintenance team, manage budgets, coordinate contractors and oversee statutory compliance across multiple sites in the South of England.

The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, including site visits, asset management, project coordination and on-call support. Travel and occasional overnight stays are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management, building maintenance or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, health and safety, and planned preventive maintenance.
• Experience managing contractors, repairs, maintenance programmes and refurbishment projects.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and support a team of maintenance operatives.
• Practical hands-on approach and flexibility to provide maintenance cover.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and respond to urgent maintenance issues.
• Commitment to maintaining safe, compliant and welcoming environments for residents and colleagues.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle; willingness to travel between care homes.
• Must be based in the South of England.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and upkeep across all homes.
• Legal compliance, health and safety responsibilities, including fire and gas safety, electrical safety, and COOSH requirements.
• Budget and spend management for planned maintenance and repairs.
• Maintenance team management for seven operatives, including rotas and appraisals.
• Contractor, supplier and contract management with RAMS and quotes.
• Refurbishment and repair project coordination within budgets and timescales.
• Manage emergencies and unplanned works, including on-call rotation.
• Reporting on compliance, spend, projects and issues requiring decisions.
