Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Columbus, OH, is seeking an Area Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee facility operations, capital projects, and preventive maintenance across the assigned region. The role partners with RVPs, Site Managers, and regional staff to keep facilities safe, compliant, and well maintained.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in facilities or project management, strong budgeting and vendor management skills, and experience with SAP.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management, construction management, maintenance management, project management, or related field.
• Experience managing multiple projects across geographically dispersed locations.
• Experience obtaining bids, negotiating vendor agreements, and managing capital projects.
• Knowledge and experience with SAP is a plus including project tracking, Purchase Orders, and Maintenance Order processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage facility capital improvement and maintenance projects throughout the assigned regions.
• Develop project scopes and specifications and obtain competitive vendor quotations.
• Evaluate proposals and negotiate pricing, schedules, contract terms, and vendor performance expectations.
• Oversee projects from planning and budgeting through execution, completion, and closeout.
• Coordinate with operations leadership to minimize business disruption during project execution.
• Manage projects ranging from routine maintenance to capital improvements valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars.
• Track internal capital project budgets and project spending utilizing SAP.
• Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and Maintenance Orders in SAP to support project execution and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to maintain facilities in optimal operating condition.
• Assist in overseeing preventive maintenance activities across assigned facilities.
• Annually assess the preventative maintenance program and modify to support growth.
• Receive and manage maintenance requests, coordinating with regional facilities staff for timely completion.
• Perform facility assessments and identify repair, maintenance, and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate maintenance vendors and contractors to support building systems and infrastructure.
• Support facility reliability, operational efficiency, employee experience, and long-term asset preservation.
• Provide support to maintain rental properties within the territory.
