Job summary

Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is hiring a regional epidemiologist and technical advisor to lead analytics and surveillance for malaria and dengue.

The role shapes data-informed strategies, collaborates with governments, and oversees a small team of epidemiologists across multiple countries in Asia. Strong leadership, communication, and field experience are essential to drive elimination goals and program impact.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in public health, epidemiology or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership in public health or epidemiology.
• Fluent English with strong written and oral communication.
• Experience mentoring junior technical staff.
• Experience designing epidemiological surveys.
• Experience strengthening disease surveillance systems.
• Experience with government and external partners.
• Public health strategic development experience.
• Excellent epidemiological data analysis skills and decision support.
• Proficiency in R, STATA, ArcGIS, QGIS and related tools.
• Strong MS Office and report writing skills.
• Ability to work independently in remote settings and adapt to new environments.
• Collaborative, multicultural teamwork ability.
• Willingness to travel ~30% of time.

Responsibilities

• Lead malaria and dengue analytics and surveillance across CHAI region.
• Oversee epidemiology team, engage with MoH and partners.
• Develop data-driven strategies for elimination goals.
• Manage data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings.
• Support regional planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
• Represent CHAI at technical meetings and in grant deliverables.
