Job summary

Waste Connections US, Inc. seeks a Region Engineer to oversee environmental and engineering programs across multiple landfills and related facilities in the New England market. This role requires leadership in project design, permitting and compliance.

You will support clients and the sales team in optimizing waste handling solutions, review permits, and guide District Managers to ensure site compliance. Field audits and regulatory liaison are part of the job.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years managing projects with design, permitting, earth movement and building construction.
• Solid waste industry experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to share ideas effectively.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time (plane/car).

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering construction and permitting projects for landfills and related sites.
• Support customers and sales team in identifying and optimizing waste handling solutions.
• Review permits for landfills and guide District Managers on site compliance.
• Assist with environmental audits for landfills, transfer stations, MRFs and hauling sites.
• Manage regulatory and community concerns.
