Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a Regional Practice Lead for Environmental Compliance / EHS to grow and lead services in New England, including New Haven, CT or Boston, MA. You will direct complex programs, oversee regulatory strategies, and mentor staff across offices.

Serve as a senior SME, drive business development, and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver compliant, cost‑effective solutions for industrial clients nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
• 12+ years in environmental field with minimum 5 years as a project manager in consulting.
• Professional certification preferred (e.g.: PE, CHMM, CSP, CIH).
• Knowledge of Federal and state environmental regulations; industrial health and safety knowledge a plus.
• Willingness to engage in business development including identifying new clients and cross-selling services.
• Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and staff across media/geographies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgement capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage environmental compliance projects from start to finish, including proposal development and delivery.
• Oversee deliverables for air, wastewater, stormwater, SPCC, storage tanks, EPCRA, etc.
• Develop permitting/regulatory strategy for industrial development projects.
• Serve as a senior SME for EHS and compliance services and review deliverables.
• Lead and develop a team of environmental staff, including hiring and coaching.
• Manage project finances, proposals, change orders, invoicing, and cash flow.
• Pursue new clients and opportunities, expand work with existing clients, and support business development.
• Maintain leadership roles in relevant industry organizations.
• Coordinate cross-office and cross-discipline work groups.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and project personnel; ensure quality and timelines.
• Contribute to growth of Langan’s national compliance practice across US.
