Job summary

Langan is seeking an Environmental Practice Leader to join its collaborative team in Boston, MA. This leadership role focuses on driving strategic growth of Langan’s Environmental Practice across Massachusetts and the broader New England region.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of MCP, MEPA, and Brownfields redevelopment, plus strong project and client leadership. Responsibilities include managing complex projects, mentoring staff, and developing new business while strengthening

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 15+ years in environmental consulting with Mass market experience; PE or LSP required.
• Strong knowledge of MCP, RCRA, CERCLA, and other environmental laws.
• Proven track record in client development, strategic growth, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development and expand client relationships in Massachusetts and New England.
• Serve as technical lead on MCP compliance, environmental due diligence, Brownfields redevelopment, LSP oversight, and vapor intrusion mitigation.
• Oversee and manage multidisciplinary teams including junior staff and project managers.
• Lead client and regulatory communications with MassDEP and local agencies.
• Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and profitability for urban and coastal projects.
• Ensure QA and regulatory compliance in investigations, design, reporting, and risk assessment.
