Job summary

Langan is seeking a Regional Practice Lead for Environmental Compliance / EHS to grow the New England practice from New Haven, CT or Boston, MA. You will lead projects, develop permitting strategies, and supervise a regional team across media and geographies.

You will leverage Langan’s technical leadership to win new work, mentor staff, and coordinate with national experts on complex environmental compliance programs. This role offers growth in a respected firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or closely related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years in the environmental field with regulatory experience; at least 5 years as a project manager in consulting.
• Professional certification preferred (PE, CHMM, CSP, CIH).
• Knowledge of Federal and state environmental regulations; safety knowledge a plus.
• Willingness to engage in business development and cross-sell services.
• Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and staff across geographies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage environmental compliance projects from start to finish.
• Prepare and submit deliverables under environmental programs (air, wastewater, SPCC, EPCRA, etc.).
• Develop permitting/regulatory strategies for industrial projects with a multidisciplinary team.
• Act as senior technical SME for EHS and compliance services; conduct audits and permit strategy.
• Lead and coach a team of environmental staff, locally and nationally.
• Manage proposals, change orders, invoicing, and staff utilization.
• Identify and pursue new clients and opportunities; support business development.
• Maintain industry involvement and coordinate work across offices and disciplines.
• Interface with clients, regulators, attorneys, and project teams; contribute to national practice growth.
