Job summary

Island Hospitality is seeking a Regional Director of Engineering to oversee preventive maintenance across our hotel portfolio, ensuring top safety and service standards. The role requires proactive leadership, managing multiple tasks, and travel up to 80%.

The successful candidate will supervise due diligence and pre-development activities for maintenance at new properties, implement standardized service platforms, and negotiate national contracts with vendors to secure best services and prices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• Previous hotel experience is required.
• Relevant technical certifications are preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite is required.
• Experience with Quore is preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 80% of schedule.
• Due to travel requirements, final candidates must be based in the Eastern US.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive maintenance operations across building systems, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment, and electrical systems.
• Analyze maintenance performance and trends to ensure efficiency.
• Supervise due diligence, transition, and pre-development activities for maintenance at new properties.
• Implement a company-wide service standards platform for consistency and quality.
• Negotiate national contracts with vendors to secure best services and prices.
• Oversee outside maintenance and engineering consultants to ensure compliance with standards.
• Oversee repairs to guest rooms including minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting, telephone and cable work.
• Manage the systematic rooms preventive maintenance program for guest safety and satisfaction.
