Job summary

Island Hospitality Management, LLC. is seeking a Regional Director of Engineering to oversee maintenance across our hotel portfolio. The role demands proactive leadership to ensure safety, reliability, and high service standards across properties.

The position may require flexible scheduling and travel up to 80% of the time, with final candidates based in the Eastern US. You will manage preventive maintenance programs, vendor contracts, and external consultants while upholding company-wide

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Previous hotel experience is required.
• Relevant Technical certifications are preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive maintenance operations across building systems, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment, and electrical.
• Analyze maintenance performance and trends to improve efficiency.
• Supervise due diligence, transition, and pre-development activities for maintenance at new properties.
• Implement a company-wide service standard platform to maintain consistency and quality.
• Negotiate national contracts with vendors to secure the best services and prices.
• Oversee all outside maintenance and engineering consultants to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Manage repairs to guest rooms, including minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting, telephone, and cable repairs.
• Lead the preventive maintenance program for systematic rooms maintenance to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
