Job summary

Island Hospitality Management in West Palm Beach is seeking a Regional Director of Engineering to lead preventive maintenance across our hotel portfolio. You will drive safety, reliability, and operating standards while coordinating with property teams.

The role requires hands-on leadership, oversight of capital projects, vendor negotiations, and a strong focus on guest satisfaction. Travel up to 80% and flexibility in scheduling are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Previous hotel experience is required.
• Relevant technical certifications are preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all preventive maintenance operations across multiple properties, including building systems, plumbing, and electrical.
• Analyze maintenance performance and trends to ensure efficiency and quality.
• Supervise due diligence, transition, and pre-development activities for new properties.
• Implement a company-wide service standard platform to ensure consistency.
• Negotiate national vendor contracts to secure best services and prices.
• Oversee outside maintenance/engineering consultants for compliance.
• Manage repairs to guest rooms, including minor plumbing/electrical tasks.
• Lead the preventive maintenance program to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
