Job summary

Houston-Galveston Area Council is seeking an Employment Engagement Manager who will bridge employers with the Gulf Coast Workforce Board and lead a team focused on diverse industries. This role advances our business services offerings across the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline.
5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, or related duties.
Ability to collaborate across divisions and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Provide direct advice and guidance to employers on Gulf Coast Workforce Solutions support.
Develop deep knowledge of programs, including apprenticeships and paid work experiences.
Serve as lead convener for the community, planning events and meetings with leaders.
Oversee Business Services staff in career offices, guiding the team and measuring performance.
Liaise with state and federal leaders, ensuring alignment with priorities.
Balance requirements of employers, the Board of Directors, and senior leadership.
