Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Estimator to manage and administer regional estimating functions, including budgets, staffing, and work assignments. You will collaborate with project managers to price, negotiate, and finalize bids, ensuring data accuracy and constructability.

You will maintain cost databases, support design teams, and provide historical data analysis to drive competitive proposals. Travel may be required to support various projects across regions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 10 years of related experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers the estimating functions in assigned region, area or group to include operating budgets, staffing assignments, and work assignments.
• Implements established estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
• Works with project managers to provide administrative and technical assistance in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
• Supervises the preparation of market cost studies, materials and methods, and recommends changes to the database.
• Reviews project details and provides recommendations; collaborates on strategies and resources.
• Coordinates with design leads for cost effectiveness and constructability for proposals.
• Maintains standardized use of estimating systems and cost database.
• Maintains historical data for estimating man-hours and bid results by project.
• Reviews final estimate and proposal packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
