Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator to manage and administer estimating in the assigned region, including budgets, staffing, and work assignments. You will implement policies, collaborate with project managers on procurements, and supervise market cost studies while maintaining the cost database.

You will review final estimates for accuracy, coordinate with design leads for cost effectiveness, and ensure standardized estimating practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 10 years of related experience with at least 3 years in supervisory/management roles.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as project workloads demand.
• Experience with estimating methods, cost databases and material pricing.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers the estimating functions in the assigned region, area or group, including budgets and staffing.
• Implements established estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
• Collaborates with project managers to provide administrative and technical assistance in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders during procurement.
• Supervises the preparation of market cost studies and materials/methods analyses and recommends database updates.
• Reviews final estimates and proposal packages for accuracy and completeness.
