Job summary

Nexamp is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead EHS programs across solar construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and energy storage in the Chicago region. You will drive safety performance, partner with project teams and subcontractors, and ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA/EPA standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Safety and Occupational Health or related leadership experience.
• 4+ years of full-time safety/occupational health in construction or renewable energy.
• Experience managing direct reports or subcontractors.
• Preference for renewable energy EHS experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve EHS programs across solar, BESS, and assets.
• Lead region-based EHS team, supervise contractors, track time and actions.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, audits, and safety observations.
• Oversee incident investigations and root cause analyses; track corrective actions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, state/local) including permits and reports.
• Review JHA, work plans, permits; coach on effective controls.
• Monitor regional EHS performance, prepare leadership reports, HASPs.
