Job summary

Nexamp is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead and implement programs across solar construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and energy storage in Upstate NY and Chicago. You will collaborate with project teams, leadership and subcontractors to strengthen safety performance and promote a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Safety and Occupational Health or relevant construction safety program leadership experience.
• 4+ years of full-time safety and occupational health experience in construction, renewable energy or comparable field; renewable energy EHS preferred.
• Demonstrated management experience of direct reports or assigned sub-contractors.
• Utility-scale electrical safety experience preferred.
• NFPA 70E Certification or related professional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement environmental, health, and safety programs across solar construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, BESS, and asset management within the region.
• Lead and develop the regionally based team of EHS Specialists, ensuring site visits, partnerships, time-tracking, and corrective actions are effective.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, audits, and safety observations to verify compliance and address deficiencies promptly.
• Oversee incident reporting and investigations, perform root-cause analyses, and track corrective actions.
• Manage regulatory and environmental compliance with OSHA, EPA, state and local regulations, permits and reporting.
• Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, O&M personnel, and subcontractors on hazard analyses, work plans, and training records.
• Monitor EHS performance via leading/lagging indicators and maintain HASPs and drills.
