Job summary

Nexamp is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead regional EHS programs across solar projects in Upstate NY and Chicago. You will supervise EHS specialists, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with project teams to drive a proactive safety culture.

The role requires a BS in Safety/OH, 4+ years in construction or renewable energy safety, and strong leadership with expertise in OSHA/EPA, incident investigations, and risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Occupational Health or related construction safety leadership experience
• 4+ years of full‑time safety/occupational health in construction/renewable energy
• Demonstrated management of direct reports or subcontractors
• NFPA 70E, CSP or related certifications preferred
• Strong communication, initiative, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve EHS programs across solar construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and energy storage in the assigned region
• Lead regional EHS Specialists and manage contracted hires with accountability for site visits and corrective actions
• Conduct site visits, audits, inspections, and safety observations to verify compliance and address deficiencies
• Oversee incident reporting, investigations, root cause analyses, and CAPAs across regional projects
• Manage regulatory and environmental compliance per OSHA/EPA/state/local requirements and client standards
• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to review job hazards, work plans, permits, and training
• Monitor EHS performance with leading/lagging indicators and HASPs, drills, and coordination procedures
