Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a Regional DOT/Fleet Manager for the North East region. This hybrid role in Chantilly, VA oversees DOT compliance, training, and regional fleet operations, traveling 60–65% to multiple Northeast states to ensure FMCSA standards and safety.

You will collaborate with Operations, Dispatch, Fleet Maintenance, and Legal to implement MEI policies, conduct audits, and coach leadership and drivers. Strong knowledge of HOS/ELDs and DVIR systems required.

Qualifications

Five or more years of DOT/FMCSA compliance experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of FMCSA regulations (49 CFR Parts 382–396).
Experience with Hours of Service (HOS), ELDs, CSA/SMS, roadside inspections, and DOT compliance audits.
Experience with telematics, GPS fleet management systems, dispatch operations, transportation operations, and fleet maintenance.
Experience with electronic DVIR systems (e.g., Whip Around) or similar fleet inspection platforms.
Strong presentation and training skills with experience coaching drivers and operations leadership.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary DOT and fleet compliance resource for assigned Regional Offices.
Travel throughout the assigned region (approximately 60–65%) conducting site visits, compliance assessments, operational reviews, leadership meetings, and driver coaching.
Monitor and improve compliance with FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), ELDs, roadside inspections, and CSA performance.
Conduct DOT compliance audits and work with operations to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Support consistent implementation of driver qualification, road testing, onboarding, and transportation-related orientation requirements.
Deliver DOT compliance training for drivers, dispatchers, supervisors, managers, and regional leadership.
Coordinate with Corporate DOT, Training & Development, and local Operations for ongoing driver training.
Monitor regional compliance with vehicle inspection and defect-reporting requirements; improve DVIR completion and fleet readiness.
Utilize telematics and fleet tech to monitor compliance and recommend improvements.
Support DOT audits, accident investigations, and regulatory inquiries with cross-functional teams.
Identify safety/compliance concerns and drive timely corrective action.
