Job summary

State of West Virginia DMV seeks a Transportation DMV Regional Office Assistant Manager to supervise DMV Agents at a Regional Office, perform performance appraisals, approve leave, and cover duties in the absence of the Regional Office Manager.

The candidate will oversee scheduling, audits, policy interpretation, and customer assistance for driver/vehicle transactions, with travel and a valid license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in bookkeeping, sales, cashiering or related public contact work; two years in administrative or supervisory capacity.
• Experience with customer service and public interactions; knowledge of state government operations.

Responsibilities

• Schedule employees and manage daily office open/close.
• Oversee DMV Agents and audit transactions at close of business.
• Interpret and apply state policies and regulations for staff and customers.
• Assist customers with driver/vehicle processes and explain fees, forms, and requirements.
• Reconcile funds and inventory; assist in resolving complex transactions.
• Travel as required and maintain a valid driver’s license.
