Job summary

West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles seeks a Transportation DMV Specialist 1 to perform clerical duties, assist customers, and answer inquiries regarding DMV services. This role requires applying motor vehicle laws, policies, and procedures under general supervision. Additional related duties may be assigned.

The position emphasizes customer service, accurate recordkeeping, and the ability to navigate state procedures. Fingerprinting and a background check are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from standard high school or the equivalent.
• One year of full time or equivalent part time paid experience in bookkeeping, sales, cashiering or related public contact work.
• Substitution: College credit from an accredited college or university, business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
• All applicants must consent to fingerprinting and a criminal background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Performs full-performance level clerical work assisting customers, answering inquiries, and providing information pertaining to the services provided by the WV Division of Motor Vehicles.
• Works under general supervision, applying knowledge of motor vehicle laws, policies, and procedures.
• Performs related work as required.
