Position: Regional Distribution Sales Manager
As the Regional Distribution Sales Manager for Ruhrpumpen, you will be responsible for expanding distribution and OEM sales on the West Coast, increasing market share by managing existing networks and adding new channel partners to meet sales targets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Grow the indirect sales channel/distribution segment and OEM accounts.
- Evaluate channel effectiveness through joint sales calls (in person or virtual) and other contact methods, assessing how well all Ruhrpumpen products are sold and marketed.
- Identify, interview, and propose new distributors to achieve sales goals.
- Support and document growth within company parameters for each distributor, manage, provide support or corrective measures, and professionally terminate ineffective partners if necessary.
- Maintain proper records and utilize the CRM system effectively.
- Assist distributors in increasing their competency with Ruhrpumpen products, processes, policies, and procedures.
- Help distributor personnel become self-sufficient using electronic programs and materials provided by Ruhrpumpen for product selection, presentation, and quotation.
- Provide feedback to the North American Distributor Sales Manager regarding distributor performance, expenses, competitive insights, product development needs, and pricing information.
- Maintain communication with distributors to discuss goals, performance, promotional activities, campaigns, advertising, inventories, obsolescence, and new products.
- Ensure sales objectives are met considering market conditions and competitive factors.
- Collaborate with Market Managers to identify and develop distribution channels to enhance market penetration.
- Organize and provide scheduled sales training and assist distributor personnel with sales and application issues.
- Complete and follow up on the Target Account Form program for each distributor salesperson.
- Assist distributor sales personnel with customer calls to penetrate accounts and grow territory sales.
- Prepare and present sales reports and attend necessary meetings and training seminars.
Qualifications:
- Willingness and ability to travel 60-70% within the region, including overnight stays, covering a large geographical area.
- Strong understanding of the Distribution Sales Channel and supporting company growth.
- Respond promptly and thoughtfully to distributor and customer requests, inquiries, and issues.
- Maintain positive and constructive relationships internally and externally, even under challenging circumstances.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pumps and related products.
