Job summary

American Red Cross in Florida seeks a Regional Disaster Action Team Manager to lead volunteer teams for disaster preparedness, response, and client care management within the assigned area. You’ll work with volunteers to ensure communities are ready to respond to disasters.

Join a mission-driven team with deployment opportunities and a focus on collaborative community partnerships. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related leadership experience with volunteers.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years leading volunteer teams for social services programs.
• Valid Driver’s License and a clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Empower Volunteers: Lead and support a diverse volunteer team responsible for disaster cycle services across the assigned area.
• Lead the Program: Implement disaster cycle services activities and improve plans to meet program vision.
• Mission Capacity Building: Develop disaster volunteers and leadership volunteers to meet readiness, response, and recovery needs.
• Engage Community: Lead efforts to mobilize communities and engage partners with relevant expertise.
• Manage in a Matrix: Build relationships within a matrix management environment with internal partners.
• Know Your Communities: Act as the Red Cross disaster subject matter expert within the area to maximize presence and engagement.
• Ready to Respond: Initiate and coordinate disaster relief operations in the region as needed.
