Job summary

American Red Cross in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Disaster Action Team Manager to lead, develop, and support disaster volunteer teams responsible for local preparedness, response, and client care management. Regional travel estimated at 50% with the preferred base at the Downtown Los Angeles Regional Headquarters.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Experience: 5+ years leading and developing volunteer teams for social services programs.
• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop disaster volunteer teams for local preparedness, response, and client care management.
• Manage community and government relationships within assigned geography.
• Deploy to disaster relief operations at least once per year; support travel 50% of the time.
• Coordinate disaster relief operations in the assigned geographic area or region.
• Build relationships in a matrix management environment with internal partners and volunteers.
• Act as subject matter expert to maximize Red Cross presence and community engagement.
• Ensure readiness and mobilization of communities for disasters and emergencies.
