Job description

The Regional Director of Sales and Marketing (RDSM) is responsible for developing, executing, and leading the sales and marketing strategy for a specific region or community. The primary goals are immediate census growth and revenue increase.

The role requires frequent travel, typically from Monday to Thursday, with occasional five-day travel weeks.

Essential Functions:

  1. Schedule, organize, and conduct tours with prospective residents across independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.
  2. Observe and coach the sales team, respond promptly to all inquiries via walk-ins, phone calls, and mail-ins.
  3. Plan and execute events with the team to attract prospective residents and professionals, including seminars, speakers, and themed events.
  4. Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and care providers.
  5. Maintain proficiency in all relevant software programs.
  6. Assist in training managers for weekend backup coverage and MOD rotation.
  7. Coach teams on managing move-ins and move-outs to maximize revenue.
  8. Ensure each inquiry is treated with value and importance.
  9. Collaborate with community sales directors and the VP of Sales and Marketing to develop and implement quarterly marketing plans.
  10. Develop community outreach programs with sales directors.
  11. Plan media and marketing strategies in consultation with the VP of Marketing.
  12. Meet occupancy and budget goals.
  13. Participate in hiring, training, disciplining, and terminating departmental staff in accordance with company policies.
  14. Keep the Executive Director informed of daily sales activities.
  15. Maintain the Hot Board and Move-In/Move-Out boards.
  16. Communicate any special needs of incoming residents to relevant personnel.
  17. Manage the use of sales tools at assigned communities.
  18. Investigate all leads thoroughly before closing.
  19. Stay informed of industry trends and techniques that impact product offerings.
  20. Understand senior needs and the aging process.
  21. Update competitive analyses biannually and adjust marketing plans as market conditions change.

  1. Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
  2. Comply with all company policies.
  3. Possess strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines.
  4. Interact professionally with all organizational levels, residents, and families.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Skills / Educational Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience (1-2 years of experience and/or training).
  2. Previous sales management experience in senior living, with existing communities and development projects. Strong communication skills.
