As a Regional Sales Director you are responsible for directing, generating, and growing profitable sales within the Distribution, and National Accounts teams for our US markets through maintaining and expanding our customer base, executing short and long-term strategic sales plans, and being the voice of our customers within these channels. This position is critical for ensuring our competitive advantage by driving sales growth.
Residency in Chicago, Illinois or Atlanta, Georgia is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of Department (60%)
- Structuring of sales territories within regions for coverage of applicable portion of US
- Providing and committing to contingency plans when vacated territories exist
- Conducting performance appraisals and providing regular performance feedback and development opportunities to employees
- Recruiting, developing, and retaining talent
- Identifying needs of sales teams and National Account Managers, and supporting in finding solutions
- Driving short and long-term strategic sales plans within Regional and National Account teams by creating sound business plans to enact
- Supporting in developing a high-performance sales team by participating in culture building activities as well as accountability for regional sales.
Business Management (30%)
- Building and maintaining market share and conducting competitive positioning analysis
- Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers
- Oversee forecasting of product categories and sales regions
- Presenting at business reviews and various other internal and external events
- Conducting business review meetings with decision makers of identified major customers and providing feedback to the NA management team
- Providing input and communicating sales promotions and spiffs
- Recommending the addition, deletion or improvement of products and services
- Setting strategic plans for Distribution and responsible areas of National Account Channels
- Attending and selecting Trade Shows and other various customer events
Administrative (10%)
- Monitoring CRM usage for all sales employees
- Approving direct reports expense reporting in a timely fashion
- Monitoring car stock of business unit
- Communicating with various internal departments as necessary
- Monitoring departments monthly expenses compared to budge
CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Proficient knowledge of and effective use of Customer Focused Selling Skills (CFS) & Call Reporting Management System (CRM)
- Strong product & market knowledge
- Working knowledge of HCD business dynamics
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including TEAMS
- Strong negotiations and presentation skills
- Highly proficient in data management and analytics
- Clear communicator with a purpose and persuasive intent
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales leadership position
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working in selling role
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Travel 60-80% nationally, most often (70%) by air. Some driving travel required as well.
- Regularly visit clients and District Sales Managers via Regional Sales Management
- Work entirely on the road or from home office
- Heavy PC use
- Daily, weekly, monthly and annual deadlines
