  • Monitor location and regional performance, identify trends and gaps, and implement action plans to improve results.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, facilities, equipment, inventory, and operational resources are in place to support service delivery and business needs.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Preneed, M&A, and other teams to execute regional and company priorities.

  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets and forecasts in partnership with Finance and location leadership.
  • Review financial results, budget-to-actual performance, variances, and key operating drivers and take action when results are off target.
  • Drive disciplined management of labor, overtime, purchasing, controllable expenses, accounts receivable, and other key cost drivers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue per call, service mix, merchandise performance, preneed growth, market share, and other revenue drivers while maintaining family-centered service.
  • Build financial accountability and business acumen among area and location leaders.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, develop, and hold accountable Managing Area Funeral Directors and/or location leaders across the region.
  • Build a strong leadership bench and succession pipeline by identifying high-potential employees and creating development opportunities.
  • Lead performance management, goal setting, feedback, and development planning for direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, retention, employee relations, compensation, performance concerns, and workforce planning.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, respect, and continuous improvement.
