Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Laboratory Services Executive to lead and optimize the enterprise's laboratory operations in Winston-Salem, NC. The role ensures alignment with clinical initiatives, budget stewardship, and regulatory readiness.

Collaborating with pathologists and administrative leadership, the executive will drive performance improvements, develop talent, and maintain high standards of quality and safety in accordance with CAP, ASCP, OSHA, FDA, and Joint Commission guidelines.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology or related field.
• Typically 5+ years in technical lab services with at least 3 years in leadership and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with pathologists and administrative leadership to ensure laboratory services support clinical and safety initiatives.
• Aligns with corporate strategies, liaises between hospital administration and laboratory leadership.
• Plans and participates in projects to meet strategic initiatives and outcomes.
• Develops, implements, and monitors budgets; analyzes fiscal needs and performance; addresses variances.
• Proposes operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved objectives.
• Drives performance improvement to enhance teammate engagement and physician/patient satisfaction.
• Develops standards and systems to enhance quality, efficiency, and timeliness; fosters innovation.
• Ensures operations comply with local, state, and federal laws and accreditation requirements (CAP, ASCP, OSHA, FDA, Joint Commission).
• Ensures accuracy of test results, efficient operations, proper staffing, and resource utilization; tracks quality indicators.
• Designs and directs work, coaches teams, and manages talent with performance feedback and development plans.
• Oversees cost control and budget adherence; maintains code of ethical conduct.
