Job summary

Coherent Corp. in San Francisco is seeking a Facilities and Construction Manager to coordinate regional capital projects, manage budgets, schedules and vendor relationships in a matrixed, corporate setting.

You will lead cross-functional teams, prepare specifications, and present updates to senior leaders while ensuring safety, quality, and reliability across the facilities footprint.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in engineering or construction-related field.
• 10+ years of engineering or construction management experience.
• 5+ years managing construction projects in a corporate setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a matrixed organization with responsibility to corporate leaders and regional business leaders.
• Support local Facility leaders and manage diverse teams including internal stakeholders and external consultants, vendors, contractors.
• Coordinate and develop project specifications, estimate cost and resources, hire vendors, manage construction activity and budgets.
• Present capital project updates to leadership in standardized formats.
• Maintain facilities footprint metrics for the region and report to the worldwide head of facilities.
• Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications with cost estimates for equipment, labor, and materials.
• Maintain confidentiality due to access to technical processes and strategic plans.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings without sacrificing service quality or reliability.
• Seek continuous optimization of facilities space, investment, and utilities cost.
• Perform regular risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for efficient operations.
